A peek inside Interior designer, Andrew Melville's, Remuera home - Part one

One of my earliest posts on Lee Caroline, was about a little Schnauzer called Hugo who I looked after while his owner was briefly overseas. Hugo was an utter charmer and it was the short time spent with him that that made me decide after 8 years without a dog, it was time to get another one myself. Long story short, I ended up buying my little Schnauzer cross, Poppy. Recently I caught up with Hugo's owner, when I spotted his house in a local Realtor magazine and contacted him to ask if I could share his home with my readers. Andrew Melville is a talented, Auckland, interior designer and I am delighted today to be able to give you a little tour of his private residence. With so many wonderful images, it has been difficult to narrow them down, therefore, I have decided to publish this post in two parts with part 2 publishing Sunday.

Andrew's home has been described as a Ralph Lauren inspired, Hampton's style home and I would agree entirely. Andrews eye for design, love of antiques and creative talent has turned what was originally a plain 1950's house into something really special. Look out for touches such as the chunky sisal flooring throughout and the decorative ceiling architrave. I particularly love the striped wallpaper in the hallway, an idea I may be stealing myself, there are also lots of lovely vignettes to inspire...

I hope you have enjoyed a little "taster" of Andrews home, Sunday I will be sharing the beautifully landscaped gardens, his country kitchen, more of the living area and fabulous designer touches throughout the house.

Andrew has decided it is time to move on from "Waitotara" and begin a new project and for some lucky person, his gorgeous home is for sale.

If you would like to contact Andrew with regards to an interior design project you can email him at the address below.
